PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Traffic Operations Division (TOD) is responsible for overseeing the transportation infrastructure including the installation, operation, & maintenance of 1,100,000 traffic signs, 2,450 signalized intersections, 1,600 school zone flashers, as well as 180,000 streetlights & 1,800 freeway lights. The building was built to serve the 15,000 sf. of administration office space and the 25,000 sf. of maintainence area a shop area for manufacturing traffic signs, street marking equipment, a paint shop and material storage. As part of the project, the MEP design consisted of a 800A main distribution to serve the building. The building was also backed up with a 375kVA diesel generator and automatic transfer switch capable of supporting the entire facility. Rooftop variable air volume units (VAV) serve the 15,000 square foot of office space. Single Zone VAV Rooftop units serve the 25,000 square foot of maintainance shop areas and storage for the facility. IA designed a compressed air system to serve the needs of the maintainance shops complete with air reel drops and quick wall connections to provide an efficient layout for the workers to utilize. |
