PROJECT BACKGROUND
The renovation for this 185,000-square ft. school included a replacement of all major equipment. MECHANICAL DESIGN The central plant was changed from a 2-pipe system over to a 4-pipe system and new chilled water piping and control valves throughout the facility. Two 300T water cooled chillers, associated pumps and air handlers were also changed to newer more efficient equipment. Mechanical engineering services for the existing facility included replacement of classroom unit ventilators with new Fan Power VAV boxes, addition of outside air systems, and replacement of cafeteria and kitchen HVAC equipment. ELECTRICAL DESIGN Scope of work for electrical system included replacement of antiquated electrical panels and distribution system, lighting and PA systems. PLUMBING DESIGN Plumbing renovation included fixture replacement, addition of new acid waste system to support new laboratories requirements, and upgrades to science classroom safety system. |
