Replacement of Sharpstown High School was one of the top priority projects for the 2012 HISD bond program.  Sharpstown High School is a Vanguard neighborhood school with a variety of specialty programs including: Business Management and Administration, Career Development, Finance, Health Sciences, and Information Technology. The new High School is designed to hold a capactity of 1500 students, and is anticipated to be fully constructed in 2017.  During the construction of the new facility, the existing Sharpstown High School will remain operational in order to conduct classes. The new Sharpstown High School is programmed for:

• Two level structure with a programmed space of 212,106 GSF.
• Architectural and engineering design that is focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building concepts. The LEED goal for the facility is set for the silver level.
• Support by a 1000 ton central chiller plant, 3000 amp electrical services, security system, fire alarm, sprinkler system, and state of the art lighting systems all designed by Infrastructure Associates.
