PROJECT DESCRIPTION The New Student Apartments Project for the Texas A&M University is a new apartment complex that provides more on-site housing for the students for TAMU. In Phase I of this project, of six (6), three (3) story buildings with 42 units in each building totaling 252 units and a common space laundry room are built along. This building is an open corridor concept design with one and two bedroom unit dorm rooms in each building. Each unit is equipped with a full sized kitchen, living and dining rooms, washer and dryers, central a/c, and internet access. Infrastructure provided all MEP engineering and design services in accordance with LEED Silver requirements and the Texas A & M University System guidelines and standards of construction Red Book. Electrical work included the engineering design for all lighting and power distribution systems for all six (6) buildings, the laundry room, and all exterior lighting. Fire system and Life safety plan was also provided which included the alarms, smoke detectors, and audio visual alarms throughout each building. Each dorm unit comes equipped with separate HVAC systems as well as the laundry building. The plumbing design and engineering services provided for this project includes all hot and cold water distribution and sanitary waste and vent piping to each dorm unit and laundry building. Infrastructure Associates, Inc. provided all construction documents in AutoCAD format suitable for bid purposes and for permitting. Documentation for LEED Silver certification was done per requirements. IA provided all shop drawings, submittal review questions and comments from contractors and/or authorities, and on-site visits and inspections. IA performed these services as a sub consultant to SHW Group, LLC. |
