PROJECT BACKGROUND
Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church located in South Houston required renovations after several large storms caused damage to some of the faculties. While not only wanting to fix the damages, the church body saw this as an opportunity to make energy efficient upgrades to the mechanical and lighting systems. MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL / PLUMBING DESIGN Infrastructure Associates provided MEP design services for the complete renovation of the existing 6,000 square foot sanctuary including new lighting, HVAC replacement, power design to support new A/V and technology equipment. HVAC renovations also included supporting spaces outside of the sanctuary such as classroom and office modifications totaling 200 Tons of cooling. While the electrical renovations did not constitute the need for a replacement of the service, several electrical panels where added along with harmonic mitigating transformers to provide clean power for the new Audio Visual and IT equipment. IA also provided plumbing design services to support the mechanical design. After successfully providing a functional and energy efficient design the owners and architect obtained IA services for several other renovation projects at the campus. |
